Self-Managed with Docker and Helm​

For a more technical setup, Flowable can be run on your own infrastructure using Docker and Helm charts.

Docker​

Docker is the quickest way to get Flowable running locally for development and evaluation purposes. With a simple Docker Compose setup you can have all Flowable services up and running in minutes.

Helm Charts​

For production deployments on Kubernetes or OpenShift, Flowable provides official Helm charts. This is the recommended approach for cloud and production environments.

Self-Managed with WAR Files​

Flowable is also distributed as WAR files that can be deployed to any servlet container, such as Apache Tomcat. Additionally, Flowable can be run as a Spring Boot Java application directly, which is convenient for development and custom deployments.

This option gives you the most flexibility and control over your deployment. You can customize the configuration, integrate with your existing infrastructure, and extend Flowable with custom Java code.
